FROM VISIONS to REALITY: 10 Years of Venvi Art Gallery
November 7, 2025 – February 20, 2026
The Venvi Art Gallery's 10th Anniversary celebration "From Visions to Reality" continues through Feb. 20. The photo above was taken at the gallery of my six oil paintings currently on display. Each represents one of three themes I have developed over the years. Of the six, three are from my "Fruit and Vegetable" series: "Waldorf and Fruit Salad Teapots," and the third is "Pepper Landscape." The larger, more realistic piece in the middle is Sky Screen from my "Memory Scape" series. I used a photo as reference of my next door neighbor's peach tree. Last, is "Urban Chucks, an oil painting from my "Woodchuck" Series that makes an environmental statement.

THE CHICAGO PIANO QUARTET, Friday, January 9: 7:30PM
ZIMBALIST PIANO TRIO, January 30, 7:30PM
The Chicago Piano Quartet is an exciting project that brings together four of its namesake city's most esteemed chamber players. Violinist Desirée Ruhstrat, cellist David Cunliffe, and pianist Marta Aznavoorian are well known as the Lincoln Trio. Ruhstrat, Cunliffe, and violist Aurélien Fort Pederzoli make up the critically-acclaimed Black Oak Ensemble, one of the most active string trios on the international scene. When the two trios combine, a case of 3 + 3 = 4, they become the superlative CHICAGO PIANO QUARTET!
Trio Zimbalist has received critical acclaim for its “precision and feverish intensity” (Greece’s EfSyn). The group was known for its “liveliness and vigor of playing” and performances that were “pure enjoyment!” (Athinorama) at the Nights of Classical Music at the Gennadius Library festival in Athens, where it served as ensemble in residence in 2021. Members of the trio—violinist Josef Špacek, cellist Timotheos Gavriilidis-Petrin, and pianist George Xiaoyuan Fu—are all outstanding alumni of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. In demand across Europe and the U.S. as soloists, chamber musicians, and recitalists, they form an inimitable ensemble with repertoire spanning Romantic masterworks to today’s most lauded composers.
