What beautiful weather we are having! I always enjoy spring time wherever I am. Beautiful blue skies, calm to breezy days, and a great time to go kayaking. Problem is... I need to make time to do more fun things!!!

LARGER THAN LIFE and TINY ART
Here's your chance to explore the extremes of scale—from bold, oversized works that command the room to tiny pieces that reward close viewing and intricate detail. Artists have interpreted the theme through monumental impact or miniature precision providing a refreshing view of things we tend to take for granted.
Five of my Lumograph pencil drawings were accepted into this juried exhibition. It's been a long time since I've been to Port. St. Joe on the Gulf of Mexico in the panhandle of Florida. I wish I could see the show, but that will not be possible. If any of you are in the area and have a chance to stop by, please let me know.

20th ANNUAL 100% PURE FLORIDA JURIED EXHIBITION
Artists from all over Florida submitted artwork to be judged by Florida artist Susan Hanssen. She has been an award-winning painter for several years and she is well known in Florida for her unique and exciting work. As a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the American Watercolor Society, and the Florida Watercolor Society, Susan has twice won medals at prestigious American Watercolor Exhibitions in New York. Susan has taught numerous, highly successful workshops across Florida and New Mexico.
This exhibit is an extremely popular show the art community looks forward to seeing each year. As one of the fortunate sixty-seven artists whose work was accepted, I look forward to joining the curious on Friday evening, May 1 at 7PM when the awards are announced.

JUNE: HORIZON MEMORY: A SOLO EXHIBITION by ERNESTO GARCIA
Ernesto Garcia is a young, undiscovered artist whose compelling journey and raw talent embody the spirit of perseverance and hope. Born amid the political chaos and poverty of Cuba, Ernesto’s early life was marked by struggle, loss, and a relentless pursuit of freedom. In search of a brighter future for his wife and two small children, he made the brave decision to leave behind everything familiar and venture to the United States—driven by a dream of opportunity and the promise of the American Dream.
Ernesto’s art is a vivid testament to his tumultuous journey. His work is characterized by a gritty yet beautiful aesthetic—an intricate dance between darkness and light that captures the complex emotions within us all. To some, his paintings evoke visions of Hell, Purgatory, or Heaven; scenes where life and decay coexist, flourishing amidst adversity. Every brushstroke seems to carry the weight of his experiences, yet also radiates a profound hope, illustrating life’s resilience and the transformative power of perseverance.
In every canvas, Ernesto tells the story of a man who refused to be defeated by circumstance, choosing instead to forge beauty from the struggle, and hope from adversity. His art, still in its early days of recognition, promises to touch many souls and remind us all of the transformative power of courage and vision.
